You may not overthink it when you dash off a quick blog post, but some of the simplest tweaks can really amp up your hits.

Schedule your keywords

Of course, you’re more than likely to have researched which keywords to incorporate into your posts but sometimes you can get distracted and forget to use them. Try creating a calendar with posts focusing on certain keywords – that way, crucial keywords will get their time in the sun.

Analyse this

Optimisation is more than just keywords and SEO. Boot over to Google Analytics and see where your traffic is coming from –people might be visiting it directly with a URL or coming to from a social media link. Whatever the channel, see where you’re lagging and direct more effort into optimizing that branch of your content.

Pretty up the pictures

You can optimize your images to improve your hit rate too – think about the text you use for alt tags, image titles and long descriptions. Pepper them with relevant keywords. And remember to use friendly image formats like jpegs!

Keep it fresh

Nothing tanks online content quicker than watching it go stale. Google thrives on fresh bread coming out the oven so keep updating your content to keep your healthy.
