Things to do before and after each Blog post

Every week the Wolf team get questions from our clients about the whole blogging process, particularly about best blogging practices.

So we have put together a simple yet comprehensive checklist that you can follow before and after each blog post. If you can follow the list, you are on your way to blogging like a pro.


Write a post title that will grab a site visitors attention

Use keywords but write like a human, not an SEO robot

Use search phrases

Use the main keyword phrase at the beginning of the page title tag

Be interesting – content is king so engage your audience with interesting on brand content

Be newsworthy – find something to say that you haven’t said before

Links Link Links – Links are important, if content is king, links are queen

Deep link to past posts

Link to internal pages on your site

Add questions at the end of your post to encourage discussion with your audience

Add on brand images

Add Alt text to your images

Use the words “image” or “picture” in your photo Alt descriptions and captions, a lot of searches are for a keyword plus one of those words

Use keyword rich captions with your images



Share you post on Facebook and Twitter

Schedule your post for Twitter several more times

Respond to comments

Check the analytics of your post to see how much engagement it received

Include a link to your post in your monthly newsletter

Share your post on Pinterest
